Schools for toddlers can be a fun and educational time for them. But in setting up a day care center, one has to note that the area needs to be wide enough to accommodate the toddlers, the toys and other furniture and fixtures. Use bright colors for your walls and paint interesting murals around the room. Shelves and kids furniture have to be strategically placed to allow for more movement and provide a floor where kids can freely play. There are specific furniture needs based on the activities lined up by your day care center. This also depends on the age group that are housed in each room. For younger tots, furniture with sharp corners are not allowed because of the danger they pose. But for all the kids, toys should not contain any toxic material. Avoid toys with small, removable parts because toddlers will almost put anything in their mouths. Small parts pose choking hazards which can lead to difficulty of breathing.
