Midnight Star was an R&B and funk band that enjoyed some success mostly on the R&B charts in the early to mid eighties. One of their finest pieces of funk that is often overlooked is "No Parking on the Dance Floor".
The viewpoint taken in the song is that of a ticket warden trying to discourage people from standing still on the dance floor. Anyone that parks on the dance floor and doesn't dance is threatened with the line "I'll be forced to give you a ticket".

One of the biggest hits by Sam & Dave is the song "Hold On, I'm Comin'". When it was originally released the song was actually titled "Hold On, I'm A Comin'".
The idea for the song title came as a result of some back and forth banter between the song's two songwriters Isaac Hayes and David Porter. While Porter was on a toilet break Hayes urged him to hurry back because he wasn't happy with the amount of work they had done so far that day and wanted to get some more work done. Porter replied with, "Hold on man, I'm coming".
On coming back Porter suggested that it would be a good title for the song and so they named it. The song was a soul music hit for Sam & Dave as it reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart and also went to number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

My New Hobby
Since I had got my hours at work cut back I have been looking for a fun new hobby, or just something to do.
